Where is God when you Need Him?

(Psalm 139:7-10; Jer. 23:23-24)

Psalm 139:7–10 ⁷ Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? ⁸ If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. ⁹ If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, ¹⁰ even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. 

Jeremiah 23:24 ²⁴ "I am a God who is everywhere and not in one place. Do you not know that I am everywhere in heaven and on earth?"  

The OMNIPRESENCE of God:

The presence of God ______________________ at the same time.

The state of being constantly encountered.

• It does not mean: God is everything. (that’s ________________)

Acts 17:28 ²⁸ He is not far from us for in Him we live and move and have our being.  

FACT:       God is always WITH me.

I just need to ____________________ it.

FOUR COMMON LIFE EXPERIENCES:

1. WHEN I'M LONELY, GOD IS MY ______________________.

Psalm 25:16 ¹⁶ Turn to me, Lord, and be merciful, because I am lonely. 

            Benefit #1: GOD'S PRESENCE __________________ ME UP. 

Hebrews 13:5 ⁵ God has said, “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you!" 

John 15:15 ¹⁵ I have called you friends,  

Psalm 16:1 ¹ Your presence fills me with joy.  

2. WHEN I'M WORRIED, GOD IS MY _____________________.

Isaiah 43:2, 5 ² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze… ⁵ Do not be afraid, for I am with you; 

                Benefit #2: GOD'S PRESENCE ________________ ME DOWN.

Psalm 16:8-9 (GN) ⁸ I am always aware of the Lord's presence; He is near, and nothing can shake me. ⁹ I'm so thankful and glad and I feel completely secure.

3. WHEN I'M TEMPTED, GOD IS MY ______________________.

Hebrews 4:15 ¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

            Benefit #3: GOD'S PRESENCE _________________ ME OUT. 

Hebrews 4:13 ¹³ Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.  

4. WHEN I'M DISCOURAGED, GOD IS MY __________________.

Psalm 34:18 (GN) ¹⁸ The Lord is near to those who are discouraged.  He saves those who have lost all hope. 

John 14:16 ¹⁶ I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever 

                Benefit #4: GOD'S PRESENCE ________________________ ME. 

Psalm 116:8–11 (GN) ⁸ The Lord… stopped my tears and kept me from defeat. ⁹ And so I walk in the presence of the Lord... ¹⁰ I kept on believing, even when I said, “I am completely crushed,” ¹¹ even when I was afraid and said, “No one can be trusted.” 

How to "Practice God's Presence"

1. Be _______________.
