Our classroom for children ages 3-4 years old is the Green Room. Our curriculum encourages the development of large and fine motor skills, emotional and cognitive development and social skills. We encourage each child’s individual development by providing a safe, supportive learning environment. Our day includes snack time, an interactive circle time that includes games, songs, body movement, felt board stories, and puppets. Throughout the school year the children are introduced to the letters of the alphabet, with a letter of the week and numbers 0-10, with a number of the week. The children are given opportunities to take an active role in their classroom with daily jobs (calendar, weather person, flag person, bell ringer, snack helper, line leaders, and prayer leaders). We have inside free play, where they choose from various activities such as a daily art activity, building with blocks, role play with dress up, manipulatives, free art (coloring, cutting, stamps) and the discovery table. Our outside time helps develop large motor skills by riding bikes, climbing, digging, running, and playing on the slides. We conclude our daily preschool lesson with our Bible time. This is a special time when we praise God through song and learn from the Bible about God’s love for us. Our teachers foster a classroom environment where the children love each other and love learning.
