The Temple – My Body My Choice? 

Galatians 4:4 When the set time had fully come, God sent his son.

Luke 3:12–13 Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”  “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them.

1 Kings 9:1–3 When Solomon had finished building the temple of the Lord and the royal palace… The Lord said to him: “I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

The Talmudic Rabbis said, “One who has not seen Herod’s Temple has never seen a beautiful thing.” (Bava Batra 4a) 

 “It was built by a sinful king, and the building was intended by him as an atonement for having slain Israel’s sages.” (Numbers Rabbah 4:14) Talmud

Acts 2:1, 9–11 “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place…  Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome… Cretans and Arabs.” 

John 2:18-21 Then the Jews demanded of him, "What miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?" Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days." The Jews replied, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?" But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 

1 Corinthians 3:16  Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

1 Corinthians 6:19–20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. 

Holy Spirit LIVES INSIDE US to:

- Comfort us

- Counsel us

- Convict us

- Encourage us

- Help us

- Guide us

- Strengthens us

- Impart God’s Wisdom to us

- Confirm God’s Will to us

- Illuminate God’s Word for us

John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 

John 14:16–17 (ESV) The Father… will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth… he dwells with you and will be in you.
