Renewing Our Focus   8-27-23

Series: Getting Ready for a New World (Part 3 of 3)

Rev. 22:12 (NASB) ¹² Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.

1 Cor. 3:8 (NASB) ⁸ Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

1 Cor. 3:11-15 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. ¹² If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, ¹³ his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. ¹⁴ If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. ¹⁵ If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. 

GETTING READY FOR A NEW WORLD:

1. WE ___________________________! 

        (Why? Because ____________ ____________ are At Stake!)

- WHAT ARE YOU ______­___ FOR THE TRIP TO ___________?

Memory Verse: Matt.6:19-20 ¹⁹ Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ²⁰ But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

2. WE ____________ RENEW OUR FOCUS! 

        (Why? Because we Don’t want to be ___________ Bankrupt!)

Matthew 6:21 ²¹ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

   - HOW ARE YOU _______ YOUR TIME, _______ & TREASURE?

Matthew 6:22-23 ²² The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. ²³ But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

3. WE MUST ______________ OUR FOCUS! 

        (Why? Because we’re ____________ and we Forget!)

Matthew 6:24 ²⁴ "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.  

2 Timothy 2:4 (NASB) ⁴ No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. 

- ARE YOU LIVING FOR THE ______ OR______________?

4. WE MUST RENEW ___________ FOCUS! 

        (Why? Because we want _____ _____ to Count for Eternity!) 

Matthew 6:25 ²⁵ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than _________________? (…food, and the body more than clothes?)

Matthew 6:31-32 ³¹ do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ ³² For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

DOT-OLOGY:

             1. None of us Knows _____ _________ our DOT is! 

          2. Comparing our DOT ________ _________! 

Matthew 5:11–12 ¹¹ “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. ¹² Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven…

5. WE MUST RENEW OUR ______________! 

        (Why? Because It’s about His ________________!) 

                          - It’s Not about Us All the Time…

 Matthew 6:33 ³³ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

                           - WHAT ARE YOU ____________ YOUR______ FOR?
