Romans 4:1-3 - What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? 2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. 3 What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
Is there any good thing that any of us could do that would impress God?
Job 38:4-5 - Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. 5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
How to be Accepted/Saved by God ~The Case of Abraham~

- We say, “yeah but I have to do something first!”
- But God says, “to him who believes!”
- Being a “good person” doesn’t save you.

Luke 5:32 – Jesus says – “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

How to be Accepted/Saved by God
~The Case of David~
Romans 4:6-8 - 6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works 7 “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”
- Abraham came before the Law.
- David lived under the law. But the Law still did not save him!
- The Law only reveals that we are ___________________.
Romans 7:7 - 7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law.
