How’s Your Appetite?   11-26-23

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 5:6 (ESV) 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

What are you HUNGRY for?

  • Blessed are those who recognize their _                            and

purpose in God!

Romans 12:1-2 (Phillips) 1 With eyes wide open to the mercies of God, I beg you, my brothers and sisters… 2 Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mold, but let God remold you’re minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good… and moves towards the goal of true maturity.

How will you be SATISFIED?

Matthew 5:6 (ESV) Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him…

  • God says, "I will Remove your _                                                      !"

  • To be Satisfied is to be _                                               !

What is RIGHTEOUSNESS?

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 4:22–25 22 This is why “it was credited (“Imputed”) to him (Abraham) as righteousness.” 23 The words “it was credited (“Imputed”) to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit (“Impute”) righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification

What are you THIRSTY for?

Matthew 5:6 (ESV) 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Psalm 42:1–2 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

Isaiah 55:1–2 (ESV) “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy

Jeremiah 2:2, 5 "I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the desertThis is what the LORD says: "What fault did your fathers find in me, that they strayed so far from me

Jeremiah 2:13 "My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

Jeremiah 2:27 They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say, Come and save us!”

How to Take OWNERSHIP of your Satisfaction:

Acts 17:11 11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
