Paul’s Formula in writing Ephesians:

- An Indicative tells us what God has already done. (It Indicates something)

- An Imperative tells us we’re to live up to what is already true of us! (It’s Imperative)

Ephesians 1:1-3 ¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: ² Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ³ Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 

MEMORY VERSE:

Ephesians 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Philippians 3:16 Let us live up to what we have already attained. 

Colossians 3:1-3 ¹ Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. ² Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. ³ For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 

Romans 12:1 I urge you… in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship (“Proper” = Reasonable Expression)
